Dr Emily Hine – Small Animal GP Veterinarian

My journey into raw feeding started around eight years ago with my dingo, Bentley. After recognising that he needed a more specialised diet, I explored a range of options, from preparing raw meals myself to trying several commercially available raw food products. Eventually, I discovered Pet Shop Boys and was impressed by the quality, convenience, and results.

The difference in Bentley's health was remarkable. His coat condition improved, his digestion became more consistent, and—something every dog owner appreciates—his stools became smaller and easier to manage. Most importantly, he enjoyed eating it, which is often one of the biggest challenges when finding the right diet.

I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 and have been working as a small animal veterinarian for almost nine years. I am proud to own and operate Mount Hutton Pet Hospital, where I provide a full range of veterinary services including consultations, preventative healthcare, vaccinations, diagnostics, and surgery.

As a small animal GP veterinarian, I see a wide range of health conditions every day, many of which can be improved, managed, or supported through appropriate nutrition. While traditional veterinary care forms the foundation of my practice, I believe there is a significant opportunity to integrate nutrition into the management and treatment of many common diseases. I have a particular interest in skin and ear disease, especially cases associated with food sensitivities and allergies, and I frequently incorporate dietary assessment and nutritional strategies as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

I am passionate about raw feeding and helping pet owners better understand the important role nutrition plays in their pet's overall health, longevity, and quality of life. My focus is on building strong, lasting relationships with clients and working together to support their pets through every stage of life, helping navigate any health challenges that may arise along the way. I believe that a collaborative partnership between veterinarian and owner is one of the most important factors in achieving the best possible outcomes for our pets.

I look forward to meeting you and your pets and having a chat about all things raw feeding and animal health. It has been exciting to see raw feeding become more widely discussed and understood over the years, and I enjoy helping owners navigate the many options available for their pets. I am passionate about creating an open, judgement-free environment where owners feel comfortable discussing nutrition and asking questions. My goal is to help more people understand the potential benefits of raw feeding and feel supported in making informed decisions that are right for their individual pet.
