Why do you use offal in your recipes?
Offal is essential to a complete raw diet. Muscle meat alone does not provide the full range of nutrients dogs and cats need.
Offal is rich in vitamins and minerals that support long-term health and wellbeing, including B vitamins, iron, zinc, copper, and fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Along with bone, offal helps create a balanced, biologically appropriate diet your pet is designed to eat.
Is Somerford raw natural pet food complete, or do I need to add anything?
Our raw, natural pet food is designed to be complete and balanced.
You do not need to add supplements or mix in other products. Each recipe includes the right combination of muscle meat, bone, offal, and natural ingredients to support everyday nutrition for dogs and cats.

Can dogs and cats eat this food cooked?
While our food is designed to be fed raw for maximum nutritional benefit, it can be cooked lightly. Gently heat the food over medium heat for just a few minutes until it begins to change in colour and texture.
As your pet becomes accustomed to their new diet, you may choose to reduce the amount of cooking time until you are feeding a raw diet. The heating process can remove up to 60% of nutrients, which is why a raw diet is most beneficial for your pet.
My pet has allergies or skin issues. Is this diet suitable?
